FC Barcelona manager has revealed that the club would need to sell players before they can register French defender Jules Kounde.

The 23 year old Frenchman who joined from Sevilla in July for a reported £42m fee has not been able to play as the club need to comply with La Liga financial rules.

La Liga chief, Javier Tebas, had reportedly earlier warned that the Spanish giants would not be able to register players by just activating levers. Barca registered four other new players the night before their league opener last weekend after freeing up funding with several ‘economic levers’.

With Chelsea reportedly interested in striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang,  Dutch forward Memphis Depay linked with an exit from the Spanish club to Juventus and Frenkie de Jong still of interested to Manchester United, Xavi believes there is still hope that the French defender would be registered and eligible for the club in the nearest future.
