Leicester City have turned down a third Chelsea offer for Wesley Fofana, believed to cost between £60m and £70m. The Blues’ offer for the services of the 21-year-old Foxes centre-back  is believed to contain additional clauses, some of which Leicester consider unrealistic. It is believed Leicester City want a world-record fee of over £80m from the London club. The Blues have already spent around £170m this summer and recently  had a £40m bid for Everton forward Anthony Gordon turned down.

Fofana was left out of the squad for Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Southampton after manager Brendan Rodgers said he was not in the right frame of mind to play.

The defender, who joined the Foxes from St Etienne in 2020 and has been capped by France at Under-21 level, signed a new five-year deal at the King Power Stadium in March.

It is uncertain whether Fofana will return to the squad ahead of the clash with Chelsea this weekend at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
