Prolific striker Harry Kane scored his 200th league goal within five minutes, had a penalty saved before scoring a second to help Tottenham Hotspurs to a 2-0 win over newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

Steve Cooper’s Forest were gritty and played on the front foot all through but Kane punished them twice. Enjoying a noisy and optimistic home crowd, they looked like they were going to score on several occasions but failed to make the most of their touches inside the penalty box.

Impressive Dean Henderson denied the England forward from the spot amidst several important saves during the game. The penalty save was quickly followed by a huge chance for Forest’s Neco Williams but he could not find the target.

It was an entertaining match with Forest continually pushing for an equaliser but Kane was the man who dealt Nottingham Forest the ultimate blow with his 200th and 201st league goals.

Only Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney have more Premier League goals than the Englishman
