Newcastle United keeper Martin Dubravka is close to joining Manchester United after both clubs reached an agreement for the Slovakian.

Erik ten Hag had been trying to get a quality back-up to David de Gea following Dean Henderson’s loan move to Nottingham Forest with the Red Devils’ attempts to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp failing when the German opted to stay in the Bundesliga.

Ten Hag has now turned his attentions to Slovakia keeper Dubravka who has lost his place to new Magpies signing Nick Pope. Dubravka had been a regular in the Premier League since he moved to Newcastle in 2018 until the arrival of the Englishman.

Manchester United have already signed Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez this summer with Antony in town for his medicals while Hannibal Mejbri is the latest departure from Old Trafford.
