Jadon Sancho’s 23rd minute strike gave Manchester United their third straight win in the Premier League on Thursday evening. It was also the first time the club got back to back away victories in a long while.

Manchester United’s performance was reminiscent of their victory at the Saint Mary’s Stadium against Southampton on Saturday – solid, unspectacular but highly efficient and enough to give them a third straight win in all competitions for the first time since April 2021, sending them up to fifth in the Premier League table.

The Red Devils were largely in control against an underwhelming Leicester who are still winless in the league this season.

Brendan Rodgers and his out of sorts Foxes felt the impatience and ire of the home fans all through the encounter at the King’s Power Stadium.

Following the 1-0 victory, Ten Hag’s United will be growing in confidence which will be put to the test against top-of-the-table Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday. They will be boosted by the arrival of Antony and Martin Dubravka, who was confirmed on a loan fee of £2million with an obligation to buy at the end of the loan.
