There was confusion on Monday morning at Ibadan Central Hospital in Ososami area of Ibadan, capital of Oyo State over alleged removal of some parts of 91-year-old corpse of Rachel Osuntolu overnight in the hospital.

Family of the deceased and residents of the area blocked the entrance of the street where the hospital was located to demand justice.

Broadcast Cable Network gathered that the corpse of the deceased, who was admitted in the hospital over a week ago, was tampered with after her demise on Sunday morning.

Some children of the nonagenarian while speaking with journalists explained that they left the hospital around 8pm on Sunday evening with plan to take the corpse to a morgue on Monday morning.

They said they were all surprised when they saw blood on the floor of the room where the corpse was kept while some pounds of flesh on the woman’s forehead and arm had been removed .

Efforts to speak with the head of administration of the hospital, Oluwaseun Haastrup, proved abortive as she refused to commented on the situation.

Oyo Police spokesman  Adewale Osifeso when contacted said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.

The Divisional Police Officer of Iyaganku and his team were on ground to prevent breakdown of law and order at the scene of the incident.
