As a result of the perennial problems of frequent fire disasters in Lagos State, the Ministry of special duties and intergovernmental relations in capacity of the Special Adviser on special duties, Honourable Mobolaji Ogunlende has stepped up an advocacy campaign through some notable Nollywood Actor and Actresses on how to curb the menace of fire outbreak in Lagos.
Mobolaji while receiving the theatre practitioners in his office on a courtesy visit used the period to called on residents of Lagos to take safety first, as a precaution whenever fire outbreak occurred, noted that as the dry season is at the corner, it is pertinent on residents to desist from any act that can lead to fire disasters.
“We aren’t really safety conscious in this part of the world and in cases of fire outbreaks, we are at high risk because dry season is fast approaching. During harmattan, everything is dry, so a little spark will ultimately lead to a fire outbreak. One needs to take more precautions at times like this”.
Nollywood Actor and Actresses are Roxy Antak, Jumoke Odetola and Jennifer Nnoruga.
The event created an avenue to test run the effective and immediate response of 112 and 767 emergency line in case of any outbreak.
It would recalled that recently, Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu expanded the state emergency response services with the inauguration of four newly built fire stations and 62 fire fighting truck in the State.
