As the football world and the whole of Brazil continues in mourning of the passing of revered football great Edson Arantes do Nascimento popularly known as Pelé, the body of the Brazilian football legend has been moved from the hospital where he died to the stadium of his former club Santos FC.

Fireworks greeted Pelé’s coffin as it made it’s way from the hospital to the stadium.

Fireworks were in the skies as his body was being moved from the hospital through the streets of Sao Paulo.

Pelé’s wake will be held at Santos Football club later today and his coffin will be placed in the centre of the pitch for the public to pay respects.

The late icon who is greatly respected all over as football’s first global superstar died at the age of 82 in São Paulo.
