Chelsea were able to pay their tributes to the late Gianluca Vialli on a fine Sunday afternoon as a Kai Havertz header gave the Blues a much needed win.
Much of the pregame talk had been on the signing and unveiling of Ukrainian forward Mykhailo Mudryk.
It was also a great time for the Chelsea faithful watching the game to see many of their legends step on the pitch in an emotional tribute to the late Italian legend of the club who was once player-manager.
Mykhailo Mudryk has finalised his move from Shakhtar Donetsk after agreeing personal terms with the Blues. 🤝

After a tepid start to the game, Havertz headed home to give the frustrated fans some relief. Crystal Palace tried to get back into the game with late scurries at the Chelsea goal but new signing Badiashile in partnership with Thiago Silva led the defence with grit and determination ensuring Graham Potter’s men got a win after tasting defeat in recent weeks.
Chelsea will now be hoping this win (and the new signings) will boost the mood at the club and get them on a winning run.
