As the campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stormed the ancient city of Ibadan and capital of the South West, the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has pledged to ensure devolution of more powers to the state government across the country when elected the president of Nigeria.

Atiku, who stated this at the rally held on the historic Mapo Hill, commended Governor Seyi Makinde for making logistics available and creating conducive environment for the rally.

The former Vice President urged Oyo State residents to vote out all APC candidates across the country, stressing that the ruling party has failed to deliver everything they promised.

“You are living witnesses, this is an opportunity for you to vote out APC. Vote them out completely from top to bottom and replace them with PDP from top to bottom.

“Therefore, I want to appeal to you the people of Oyo State to support PDP all the way and together we can march to victory and progress for our great country. He stated.

Earlier at the rally, the PDP Vice Presidential candidate, Patrick Okowa there was no need to be suffering again as Nigerians can no longer endure the suffering any longer, adding that only PDP and Atiku know what the country want.

“Our People go home hungry, this is not the Nigeria of our dreams. With your vote we can bring Atiku and myself to power. We are talking about experience here. Nigeria has been destroyed and Atiku is ready to listen to all of us. We are very sure of what we want to do. PDP has done it before and we will do it again because we know what to do. Okowa added.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of party, Iyorchia Ayu Iyorchia also thanked Oyo State people for coming out in their large number as many people were in doubt if anyone would come out. He stressed that PDP is the party of the ordinary people and it was their turn to govern the country. He added that after the election, there will be no APC again, calling on all Nigerians to vote APC out.

In the same vein, the trio of Oyo State Chairman of PDP, Mr. Dayo Ogungbenro, Senator Hosea Agboola and former Minister of State for FCT, Chief Jumoke Akinjide said PDP will go to places, urging Nigerians to vote all the candidates of the PDP, including actualisation of the Atiku/Okowa presidential ambition.

They pointed out that Nigerians, home and abroad, are tired of the ruling APC, adding that ‘only PDP under Atiku/Okowa Presidency can save Nigeria from evils planted by the APC.

In his address, Governor Emmanuel Udom said only Atiku Abubakar is talking about restructuring among all the candidates. He added that Atiku is the only candidate who understands that Ibadan needs dry port to decongest Lagos port.

The wife of the PDP presidential candidate, Mrs. Titi Atiku-Abubakar pleaded with the people and solicited vote for her husband.

She said, Atiku performed creditably well while serving as the Vice President during Obasanjo-led administration. When Atiku and Obasanjo were in government, there was nothing like bandit, hunger and terrorism in the land. Don’t be deceived. I am your daughter and my husband is seeking your support to become president of Nigeria.”

Others who spoke at the rally included Senator Dino Melaye, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi.

Other dignitaries included Senator Adolphus Wabara, Governor Godwin Obaseki, Governor Aminu Tambuwa, Elder Wole Oyelese, Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi among many others.
