LeBron James has surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 39-year-old record to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer in regular season.
Los Angeles Lakers star James hit 38 points in a 133-130 defeat by Oklahoma City Thunder to surpass Abdul-Jabbar’s mark of 38,387.
Abdul-Jabbar, who also played for the Lakers, set the record in April 1984, eight months before the 38 year old James was born.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was live at the Crypto.com Arena to witness the remarkable feat.
There was a rousing ovation from everyone present as LeBron hit his 38,388th point in the loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
