Nasarawa United grabbed a first win of the ongoing NPFL campaign at home to Kwara United as Enyimba got their second away win this season against Gombe United.

A 10th-minute goal from former Flying Eagles player King Osanga and another in the 54th minute from Chinedu Ohanachom ensured the Solid Miners were jubilant at the blast of final whistle against the Afonja Warriors.

Nasarawa Utd showed more desire all through with five of their six attempts on target while Kwara United managed just three away from home.

Despite this win, #SaiUtd are still bottom of Group A with four points in their 7 games due to a -6 goal difference which could change depending on El Kanemi’s result this weekend.

Elijah Akanni and Philip Ozor steadied the ship in midfield for Enyimba as the People’s Elephants defeated the Savannah Scorpions to get just their second away win in their seventh game of the season.

Emeka Obioma scored the winner for Enyimba after  Gombe United’s Taiye Yusuf, who had put his side in the lead as early as the 12th minute, missed a penalty just before halftime. Elijah Akanni had restored parity for Enyimba in the 35th minute with a fine setpiece that has now become a trademark for him.

Enyimba are now temporarily second on the Group A log with three wins and 2 losses from their last five games.

Meanwhile, the Interim Management Committee (the governing body of the NPFL) has approved the use of the Enyimba Stadium in Aba for Sunday’s tie between Abia Warriors and Wikki Tourists.
