Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane scored as Tottenham Hotspurs compounded Graham Potter and his Chelsea side’s misery with a 2-0 win in the London derby.
Graham Potter, in usual fashion, made changes to the Chelsea starting eleven but got rewarded with another tepid performance from his boys in the hot sun.
Hakim Ziyech was lucky to escape a sending off after slapping Spurs’ Emerson Royal during a confrontation, an offence for which he initially got a red card, but he was saved when Stuart Attwell overturned it to a yellow after he was called for a review by the VAR.
The game sparked to life when Oliver Skipp hit a long range effort that beat Kepa Arrizabalaga at the start of the second half before Harry Kane doubled Tottenham’s lead by tapping home at the far post after being left completely unmarked by the Blues’ defence.
Spurs have now won both games in which Christian Stellini has stood in for the recovering Antonio Conte – a 1-0 win over Manchester City before this triumph.
The pressure on Potter is more increased with his last win coming on the 27th of December, a 2-0 triumph against Bournemouth at the Stamford Bridge.
Two defeats and three draws in their last five games means Chelsea are stuck in tenth position while Tottenham are fourth with 45 points garnered from 25 Premier league games.
