Manchester United centre-back Lisandro Martinez will miss the rest of the season after fracturing a metatarsal bone in his foot.
The 25-year-old Argentine defender sustained the injury in United’s 2-2 Europa League quarter-final against Sevilla on Thursday.
To make matters worse for Erik Ten Hag, regular partner in the heart of Manchester United’s defence, Raphael Varane is also out injured for a couple of weeks.
The medics say there is some hope that Martinez would be fit in time before the start of next season.
