Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has withdrawn from the race to become the new Chelsea manager in what looks like his final decision as regards the job.

The German, who was the top favorite for the job, is said to be no longer available after multiple round of talks reportedly failed to yield expected results.

Reports now say former Tottenham and PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is the odds-on favorite to land the job after discussions today.

This comes after whispers of Vincent Kompany as another potential replacement for Graham Potter surfaced in the media.

There is also an indication that another yet-to-be-named individual is on the shortlist that once had Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann as top favorites.

Also worthy of note is the rumor that surfaced on Friday that Chelsea and Manchester City have had their first talks as regards a transfer move for Matteo Kovacic.

The Croatian midfielder could be one of the first to walk out the door of the Blues as Todd Boehly plans a massive overhaul of the squad.
