At the Akure Township stadium, David Onovo’s 22nd-minute strike gave Sunshine Stars a 1-0 home win against Lobi Stars while in Jos, Silas Nerot’s 13th-minute strike secured a vital 1-0 win for Plateau United over Nasarawa United.

A two-minute brace from Munir Idris before David Okoromi’s 76th minute goal saw Niger Tornadoes get a comfortable 3-0 at home against Abia Warriors.

Chibuike and Hilari scored for Doma United in their 2-1 win over Bayelsa United.

Earlier on Saturday, Ismael Sarki scored as Bendel Insurance secured their first win of the second stanza with a 2-1 win over El-Kanemi Warriors to love six points clear of the chasing pack.

There will be two fixtures on Monday as Akwa United welcome Kwara United to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium while Enugu Rangers travel for a date with Dakkada.

Wikki Tourists’ encounter with Rivers United has been postponed due to the latter being involved in the CAF Confederations Cup where they lost 2-0 to Young Africans of Tanzania courtesy of two late goals.
