Reece James will miss the rest of the season with an hamstring injury while Mason Mount is unlikely to feature in the final seven games.

Chelsea interim boss Frank Lampard says James has been ruled out for the season after a scan on a hamstring problem he picked in the last midweek game.

He also confirmed that Mount has a pelvic injury which he has been carrying for a while. The gaffer stated that he will have a minor surgery before a four-week recovery process.

Lampard, who said the club has big difficulties, has lost all four games of his second spell in charge at Stamford Bridge since replacing Graham Potter.

Reports say Mauricio Pochettino is almost confirmed to be the next permanent manager of the Blues who are 11th in the Premier League but it is more likely he resumes in June, not before the end of the season.
