Tottenham Hotspurs pulled a comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Manchester United despite going 2-0 down in the first half.

Jadon Sancho found the back of the net with his fifth goal of the season in the seventh minute to open the scoring after dribbling past a defender before Marcus Rashford doubled the lead in the 44th minute with a fierce shot.

It seemed there would be more goals for United after Marcus Rashford’s 29th goal of the season and Erik Ten Hag’s side looked to be coasting home with a comfortable victory before Spurs rightback Pedro Porro found the back of the net to pull one back for the hosts.

Bruno Fernandes, who many feared would miss the game due to injury, then had a gilt-edged chance to increase United’s lead but he finished poorly.

He was made to rue the missed opportunity as Son Heung-Min found the back of David De Gea’s goal before the 80th minute.

The draw means Manchester United have managed to earn only one point in their away games against the current top nine in the Premier League this season – a very worrying stat for the Red Devils.

It, however, keeps them in 4th and still with a strong chance of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League with two points off Newcastle United who thumped hapless Everton 4-1 at the Goodison Park.

Callum Wilson scored twice with Joelinton and Jacob Murphy also scoring for the Magpies while Dwight McNeil got Everton’s consolation.

Bournemouth also earned a 1-0 victory over Southampton away from home courtesy Marcus Tavernier’s goal.
