Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen scored the title-winning goal as Napoli lifted the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years.

The Nigerian’s 22nd goal of the season, the most ever by any African in a Serie a season, won Napoli their first Serie A title in 33 years as a 1-1 with Udinese at Dacia Arena was more than enough to spark jubilant celebrations back in Naples.

The Partenopei last won the league in 1990 when a Diego Maradona-inspired side added to their first ever title in 1987.

Victor Osimhen smashed in a 52nd-minute equaliser after Sandi Lovric had given Udinese a shock lead in the 13th minute.

And Napoli held on to the point they needed to win their third Serie A title with five games to spare and a 16-point advantage over second-placed Lazio.

The 64-year-old Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti, who won two Coppa Italia titles with Roma, has now become the oldest manager to win Serie A.
