Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has visited the site of the Oba Akran avenue, Ikeja plane crash.

The unfortunate incident which occured yesterday evening, involved a single engine fixed-wing Jabiru aircraft with registration number 5NCCQ.

During his on-site visitation, Sanwo-Olu expressed appreciation to the first responders and residents who actively participated in the rescue operation.

As at press time, both passengers on board were successfully rescued and are currently receiving medical attention.

According to Sanwo-Olu, the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), whose responsibility it is to investigate incidents of this nature have already commenced investigations.

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, confirmed that the aircraft, belonging to Airfirst Hospitality and Tour Ltd.

NEMA in a statement said it’s staff and that of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Fire Service, security Agencies and other stakeholders carried out search and rescue operation.
