The National Union of Lagos state students NULASS, which serves as the Apex indigenous students’ body in Nigeria has pledged to offer her Solidarity in the aftermath of the events that occurred in at the university of Lagos, Akoka some days ago and to express full support for the general protest that the National Association of Nigeria students NANS, called for on September 13, 2023.
In a letter written to NANS and signed by Shasanya Akinola, the National President of National Union of Lagos state students,
NULASS made it known that the student body condemned the unwelcome stand from the management of the University of Lagos and the conduct of the Nigeria Police force against Nigeria students who were peacefully advocating against the extreme hike in school fees proposed by the management of the University of Lagos.
“The National Union of Lagos State Students NULASS under the Leadership of Shasanya Akinola is wholeheartedly committed to join the struggle against such a drastic hike in tuition fees.”
“In the spirit of Aluta, we firmly believe that victory is certain when we stand united in our cause. To this end, we shall mobilize en masse to join the solidarity movement until the management of the University of Lagos reviews the drastic increase to its initial school fees”.
“We are resolute in our commitment to this and essential fight for the rights of Nigerian students.”
“Please consider NULASS as a part of you in your pursuit of justice and equity in education.”
