Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on a Christian-based association, the Fountain of Hope International, not to relax in its humanitarian efforts of bringing unity, and understanding among its members, the immediate community, and the entirety of society.
Sanwo-Olu, in a speech delivered on his behalf by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, on Friday during the 35th annual general conference of the association at the Bishop Akinde Christian Resource Centre, Bariga, Lagos, said the association had a pivotal role to play especially as it embodied the teaching of the gospel to contribute to the well being of the society.
He said, “Many lives have been touched by your dedication and contribution to humanitarian services to society. I therefore urge you to use this conference as a stage for dialogue understanding, shape the future ones, and remain committed to our lord Jesus Christ’s teachings that bind us together.”
On his part, the Deputy Chairman of the association, Debo Atunwa, explained that the association was aimed at strengthening evangelism as the bedrock of the society with various forms of sponsorship, and donations to charity organisations.
