It was a wide jubilation for staff and students of Mosafejo Nursery and Primary School, Awanatu close, Oworonsoki in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State with the birth of transformation of Academic pursuit in the citadel of learning, when Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, Chairman Kosofe Local Government Commissioned A block of building containing 10 classrooms, Sick bay, Toilet and Staff room.
With his commitment towards quality education, The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe emphasized that the project is a testament to his unwavering commitment to education, with a strong belief that every child in Kosofe deserves access to quality education in a conducive learning environment. While his administration is making a bold statement about to prioritize and sound vision for the future of all communities in Kosofe Local Government.
“These 10 classrooms are not mere rooms; they are incubators of dreams, laboratories of curiosity, and launching pads for future leaders, innovators, and change-makers. Each classroom has been fully equipped to meet modern educational standards, ensuring that our students have access to the tools they need to compete in an increasingly digital world.”
“Moreover, we’ve provided 100 big and 100 small desks and benches for this new building, ensuring that our students can learn in comfort. Because we believe that the physical comfort of our students contributes significantly to their ability to concentrate and absorb knowledge.”
On a note of his administration commitment towards a better education for the people of Kosofe, Moyosore highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the local government for education development in Kosofe, which include the distribution of free JAMB/UTME forms to support tertiary education aspirations, GCE support program for students retaking exams, free tutorial classes to enhance exam preparation, an adult education initiative to eliminate illiteracy, distribution of educational materials, and health support for students through regular deworming exercises.
While applauding Barrister Moyosore gesture towards quality education for every child in Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Ekundayo Alebiosu, Commissioner for Waterfront, Lagos State made it known that this development has taken learning environment in Kosofe local Government to another level.
He also commended the chairman’s educational initiatives, noting that the newly built classrooms were a response to the people’s needs. He emphasized the importance of education as a tool for negotiation and preparation for the future, saying “nobody can stop them except for themselves”.
The Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Dr. Shittu, who was represented at the event encouraged teachers to take ownership and protect the facility, ensuring its longevity. He also made a request to the Chairman, seeking the provision of a fire extinguisher for the school to guarantee the safety of students and staff.
The Education Secretary, Kosofe LGA, Mr. Babatunde Shoneye assured that the facility will be utilized effectively as it will also lead to increased enrollment and improved academic performance.
The event created a heartfelt prayer for Barrister Moyosore wishing him the enablement, courage, power, and financial resources needed to achieve even greater success in his administration.
