As Nigeria commemorates it’s 64th Independence Day, the chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Barrister Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe has extended his heartfelt greetings to Nigerians and all the people of Kosofe Local Government.
In a message by the chairman noted that the independence anniversary has offered the Nation milestones opportunities to reflect on the journey of the Nationhood, specifically, as a community within Lagos State.
“We find ourselves at a critical juncture in our nation’s history. The challenges we face—economic pressures, security concerns, and social inequalities—are substantial. However, it is in times like these that the resilience and ingenuity of Nigerians shine brightest. Here in Kosofe, we have witnessed first-hand the determination of our people to thrive despite adversity, said Ogunlewe ”
“Our local government has made significant strides in infrastructure development, healthcare provision, and educational support. These achievements are a testament to what we can accomplish when we work together with a shared vision. Yet, we acknowledge that there is still much work to be done.”
“As we celebrate our independence, let us renew our commitment to building a more prosperous and inclusive Kosofe. Our administration pledges to continue implementing people-oriented policies and projects that address the immediate needs of our community while laying the groundwork for sustainable growth.”
Ogunlewe also used the period to called upon Nigerians to play their part in nation-building. Whether through active civic participation, community service, or simply being a law-abiding citizen, every positive action contributes to the Nigeria we aspire to create, Ogunlewe reiterated.
“Let us draw inspiration from our diversity, harnessing the unique strengths of our various ethnic and cultural backgrounds to foster innovation and progress. In Kosofe, we stand as a microcosm of Nigeria’s potential—united in purpose and resolute in our pursuit of excellence.”
“As we look to the future, let optimism be our guiding light. The challenges before us are not insurmountable. With collective effort, unwavering determination, and faith in our abilities, we can overcome any obstacle and build a Kosofe, and indeed a Nigeria, that we can all be proud of.”
“May this Independence Day reinvigorate our patriotic spirit and strengthen our resolve to contribute positively to our nation’s development.”
