Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde, has announced the conversion of qualified ad-hoc workers across local government areas in the state to permanent staff status.

The decision was made during the official commissioning of the local government house and staff training school.

Makinde directed the commissioner for local government to develop the necessary modalities for this transition within four weeks.

He emphasised that his administration will continue to collaborate with local government administrations to ensure that the benefits of democracy reach the people.

This was disclosed via a video by the Special Assistant on New Media to Oyo state governor, Timilehin Olubiyi, on Wednesday, October 2.

He said: “You will be converted. So I’ll give the commissioner for local government and chief of state matters about four weeks to follow the process, interview the people, the ones that you find that they can be employed.

“Let us employ them so that we can at least bridge that gap.”
