Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday inaugurated eight newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and Tutors-General in the State Public Service.
He urged them to lead with integrity, foster innovation, serve with empathy, and collaborate effectively to sustain Lagos State’s reputation as a model of development and inclusivity.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at the Lagos House, Ikeja, Governor Sanwo-Olu said: “Today’s event underscores our unwavering commitment to strengthening the machinery of governance and ensuring that the values of excellence, accountability, and service delivery remain at the heart of our administration.
“The positions you are stepping into today represent the pinnacle of the civil service hierarchy in Lagos State. They come with immense responsibilities to lead, innovate, and inspire the teams under your purview to achieve the vision of a Greater Lagos.
“I assure you that this administration remains committed to providing the resources, support, and enabling environment you need to succeed in your new roles. I am certain that together we will continue to build on our achievements and chart a future that ensures Lagos State remains a model of development, innovation, and inclusivity.
“As you take on this mantle of leadership, remember that your legacy will be defined not just by the policies you implement but by the lives you transform. The people of Lagos are counting on your wisdom, dedication, and unwavering resolve to make their dreams of a Greater Lagos a reality. Step forward boldly, lead with vision, and let your service stand as a testament to excellence in governance.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu also extended gratitude to the families of the appointees, acknowledging their sacrifices and support in shaping the appointees into exemplary leaders.
Earlier, the Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, remarked on the merit-based selection of the new officials. He noted:
“These appointments are in line with the need to reinvigorate Lagos State’s policy implementation apparatus and reflect our commitment to identifying and elevating deserving public servants into positions of higher responsibilities.
“It will interest you to know that these appointees are deemed to have remained consistent in their commitment, loyalty, and industry over the years and were transparently adjudged deserving of recognition in this regard.”
In his vote of assurance on behalf of the appointees, Mr Semiu Kadri expressed gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu for the confidence reposed in them. He pledged their dedication to the administration’s THEMES+ agenda, adding:
“We are fully committed to advancing the vision of a Greater Lagos and ensuring effective service delivery that positively impacts Lagosians.”
