The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has issued a strong warning regarding a fake 2025 Notice of Elections currently circulating on social media and various online platforms.
The Commission clarified that the notice in question did not originate from LASIEC and has no official standing.
In a statement, LASIEC advised citizens, political parties, and all other critical stakeholders to disregard the misleading information.
The Commission emphasised that the process for conducting local government elections in Lagos State is firmly governed by legal frameworks, and any official election notice will be published through recognised channels, including newspapers, at the appropriate time.
Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (rtd), Chairman of LASIEC, reassured the public that the Commission is committed to ensuring transparency and adherence to the law throughout the electoral process.
She urged the public to remain vigilant and cautious of misleading information in the lead-up to the 2025 elections.
The Commission’s notice serves as a reminder to all stakeholders to rely only on official communications from LASIEC for election-related information.
