The Supreme Court will on Friday, January 12, give judgement in an appeal filed by the Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf to challenge the upturning of his election by the Court of Appeal.
The apex court disclosed this in a notice to all the parties in the suit on Wednesday.
The notice directed that each party in the suit should only have a maximum of two lawyers present in court.
The appellate court had upheld the verdict of the election petitions tribunal which invalidated the election of Governor Abba Yusuf. Like the tribunal, the Appeal Court declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Nasiru Gawuna, as authentic winner of the election.
The Supreme Court judgement will bring to an end the legal battles over the Kano governorship election.
