The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has announced the removal of  Guinea as the official hosts of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

On November 30, 2018, CAF had announced Guinea as the hosts for the 2022 AFCON but the football body has now withdrawn the mandate after the Executive Committee approved the decision to strip Guinea of the hosting rights.

CAF noted that Guinea would not be ready to handle hosting the tournament by the time frame slated for the tournament which is expected to fall in the summer of 2025.

Football fans and stakeholders will now watch on with keen interest as the governing body of African football decide the new host nation.
