The youth have been the prime agents of change and are usually the most affected by change in the socio-political context of Nigeria. The huge population of youths in Nigeria signifies a great asset for a socio-political transformation within a democratic space.
One of such focus youth is Dr. Seriki Muritala Ishola, the All Progressives Congress Youth leader of Lagos state.

Dr. Seriki is a youth development enthusiast with proven track record in youth mobilization, stakeholder engagement, capacity building and community service delivery.

During his undergraduate days at the Lagos State University, he was a member of the Student Parliamentary Council in 2012. A year after, in 2013, he served as the Vice President of the Student Union and member Student Advisory Committee. He was later elected the President of Nigerian Medical Student Association in 2015. He went ahead to serve as the President of Federation of African Medical Students Association (FAMSA) in 2016.

In 2017, Seriki was elected as the Speaker of the most vibrant youth parliament in Nigeria, the Lagos State Youth Parliament. He was a member of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, and served as the Chairman House Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs in 2019.
Indeed Dr. Seriki is an embodiment of youth progressive movement in Nigeria, his wealths of experience has established nexus between the Youths and the Imperatives of Good Governance to build a desired Sustainable National Development.

Upon his assumption as Lagos Stare APC Youth leader, he has embarked on different Youth oriented programmes to reshape Youths activities across Lagos State.

His agenda about Youths involvement in the Nation’s Politicking is extra ordinary as he always project required basic rights of the youth within the party, no wonder that his focus of Youths movement for realization of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President is gaining momentum day by day.

According to Frantz Fanon, “Each generation must, out of relative obscurity, discover its mission, fulfill it, or betray it”. There is the need to get them involved at an early stage, so that they can use their youthful zeal to serve the country.

Dr. Siriki believes in Fanon assertion and this has been his watchword for youth emancipation and the progress of APC in Lagos state and beyond.
