Nigeria’s U23 football team, the Olympic Eagles will now lock horns with Guinea in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final round qualifiying fixture in March 2023.
Nigeria defeated Tanzania 3-1 on aggregate to pregress to the final phase of the qualifier last weekend.
The first leg of the tie ended 1-1 in Tanzania, but Nigeria won the return leg 2-0 in Ibadan to move to the next round.
The Eagles will now host the Guineans in the first leg at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan between March 20- 28, while the second leg will go down in Conakry a week later.
The winner over the two legs will qualify for the U-23 AFCON in November 2023.
Morocco will host the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations which will also serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament in Paris, France.
